Should we try to aquire him? Seems like he wants out and who can blame him?
Sure why not as long as KQ or MS go. I don't think KQ is playing that badly but his salary needs to come off the books. I would offer the caps, KQ,TT & a third for him.

We have enough young skilled defencemen already. Especially left-handed Orlov does not make any difference. I'd rather promote Marchenko or Almquist/Jensen etc...

TT (Tatar I assume) brings Orlov alone with over-payment we don't need to add. I like Orlov a lot not sure what it would take, but it shouldn't be much they won't play him and Oates and GMGM don't seem to care a great deal for him. If you want to build something larger and you're already onto it here for Erat and Orlov that makes sense.

Orlov actually was a RD over in Russia, not that I am completely against the promotion thing. But Oates makes Mike Babcock's fascination with right-handed shots child's play, he is on a whole different level in terms of his commitment to that in the lineups and how he plays favorites it would appear with the shooting hand as a major factor in his evaluation. Doesn't seem to be a very happy dressing-room over in Washington, they could use the sage wisdom of one Daniel Cleary in these dark times.

Even worse. Puckmoving lefties on the right side always causes defensive problems. Like our team has not have that kind of guy for years. Left-handed right side guys have been stay-at-homes, like Woolley, Stuart, Ericsson, D.Markov or Lilja. As an example, Kindl looks to suck on right with puckmoving duties and so does Smith, but guys with only stay-at-home role do well.

It has to be a defensive style stud, someone like Ericsson with his 6'5 reach compliment the handness weakness. We have enough lefties, who play on the right, time to get rid of them and start promoting those puckmovin righties (Sproul, Jensen, Marchenko) up.

Sure, but I'm not trading Tatar. Pick someone else. Angers me that everyone is so eager to get rid of Tatar. Can we trade Babcock?

I like Tatar and I don't necessarily hope he gets traded. I just see him as one of the most expendable players that holds a decent amount of trade value. If lose him in a trade for a quality defenseman, meaning Smith, Quincey or Lashoff will be scratched, then I'd support that.

PP specialist Jason Woolley was a stay-at-home defenseman? Are you kidding me?
