Those late 1970s teams were stacked and presumptive winners. The 1993 team had depth and youth. Lots of unsung heroes. I was in the Forum for games 2 and 5 for the Finals. It was insane.
One thing that was interesting about that team was they jettisoned several popular role players in the preceding year or two - Corson, Gilchrist, Skrudland and McPhee. Savard wasn’t the sentimental kind.
The 70's dynasty teams were "boring" in that they always won and we expected that. The 93 run was totally unexpected and all those OT wins made it one of the most exciting finals in Hab's Cup collection.
