Duncan Keith has been so impressive. Considered one of the worst defencemen in the NHL last year, he looks great. Hopefully it translates to the regular season and we have a really good 2nd pair LHD for the first time in a while.
Lol weren’t a lot of us saying this to fans on here when the trade happened?

Based on the practice lines they indeed intend to load up the top line with McD/Drai/Pulju... horrible idea in my opinion, what made Tippett do this?

And it’s lead us where? The model of success with two star centers is to play them on separate lines. The only semblance of playoff success we’ve had was with them separate.
Okay? And this team has shown and proven that loading up a single line gets you absolutely no where.
You have 2 top 6 centres so you play them on the same line and force a winger to play center? Sounds like a great way to succeed.

We all know the lines will change from period to period anyway. Why sweat it.

Hmmmm I don't think McLeod and Yamamoto really do much on that 2nd line. Might have to swap Drai and McLeod for now if RNH is sick
Really getting f***ing tired of Tippett. We all know how deadly McDrai are on the same line, but spreading them to two separate lines would make opponents having to work harder rather than being able to focus on a one line team.

Agreed. If anything we should aim to spread the wealth throughout the top 9 even more:
Hyman - McDavid - Whoever (Kassian?)
RNH - Draisaitl - Puljujarvi
Foegele - Ryan - Yamamoto
Edit: could swap Kassian and Puljujarvi depending on chemistry (I like Pulju with McDavid)
Literally signed a top 6 forward in Hyman who was able to play with the likes of Matthews and Marner, but good ol stubborn Tippett has to overload McDrai despite having more options literally in front of him. McLellan 2.0.
