Mike Weber is the best #4 Dman a team that doesn't number it's best 3 defenseman could have. His ability to inspire his team from an elevated position at the rink should be thoroughly utilized by this organization. Increasing Mike Weber's ice time would be an excellent way for this organization to achieve a Stanley Cup. When that championship occurs we will all look back fondly at how Weber contributed to the Cup winning roster.

He's very helpful in the kitchen

He's courteous to senior citizen

He gives good advice to rookies

He kept in contact with Ott, and convinced him to do another run of Ott's Otters

He works out with Jacub ... Enough said

This is a Weber-bashing free zone.

I created this thread to have conversations (with myself?) throughout the season on the positive contributions of Mike Weber.

Types of phrases not allowed here:
- anyone in the lineup but Weber
- any sentence with "Weber" and "7th defenseman" in it

I like Mike Weber a lot. He tries his hardest and he is a stand-up, character guy who will physically back up his teammates every night of the year.

But his talent is limited and he has always been a 6th/7th defenseman who is a borderline NHL talent.

I thought he made big strides in his game a couple seasons ago but has regrettably regressed since then.

I wish him all the luck in the world, but his days on this team are numbered.

Weber

Good game against CBJ as third pair D with Risto
Safe, crisp passes
Came to the aid of Reinhart after he was hit by Skille
Good poke check to break up 2 on 1 in 2nd
Good hit on Dano in neutral zone
Good hit on Calvert in front of the net
+/- 0

He had a solid game, no question. I give him 3/4 Weber Smiles.
