No, because 05/06 had way more PP's than any year in the 80's. I'm really not sure how you don't understand this. No one is saying the 00's had too many PP's, just 05/06.

So everyone complained and we are having one of the lowest era's of PP opps in the history of the game.. I'll take 05/06 over what we have had the last few years with 16/17 being the lowest ever recorded in the history of the league. Getting back up to 8-10 PP opps per game would mean more PPG scorers and better career totals that match previous decades.

Refs harder on slashing etc and the goalies has smaller equipment.

Theres also more talented..skilled players entering the league each year. Way more skilled Americans than before..More players coming out of Europe..etc.

Pushing out the old school..grinder career 4th liners.

Season's over folks. Bump. 24 people finished at 1.00 PPG or higher, the highest number of players since 2006/07 and highest goals per game average since 2005/06. Pretty awesome, what an exciting year.
