The top line will come around. I think their minds have still been operating at AHL speed, and it's just taking some time to adjust to NHL speed. It is just about fully there now.

please tell me you are kidding, and forgot the sarcasm emoticon

2 of them are PPG players so far and the other has had TONS of chances and is a 0.66 PPG player.... "That top line just isn't working" is *crazy talk*, and nothing less

I agree with the person you quoted..
At ES the top line has not worked in AHL nor here.. They work fine in duos (Ebs + Hall) (Nuge and Ebs) but something happens when they are together as a trio..

Nuge has been great on back checks and IMO should stop the 2nd line from leaking goals. Gagner just can cover up for Yak and Hemsky..

Hall and Ebs work great together and have some chemistry with Gagner from last year. Hemsky and Nuge both seem like they want to be more than just passers so having both on the same line should not hurt us too much..

Having said that... if we keep the kids together and they combine for a 10pts vs CGY I will be changing my theories :p

Hall had some great chances early on but tried to make one too many dekes and in the end lost the puck.. Others including Gagner, Yak and Hemsky also tried a lot of moves that work in juniors. Nuge needs to get a different GPS system.. he is missing on his shots..

Ebs and J.Schultz also struggled offensively and shouldve had a couple goals each last night..

They just kept coming back despite all this and got us the win.. There will be a lot of ups and down but the sky is the limit for this team..

Rishaug is pretty lame for still trying to stir the pot over Yak's celebrations. Say what he wants, Belanger was jumping around on the bench like a little kid for Gagner's goal so I think he was quite OK with the overall result.

Came on here to say I loved every minute of Nail Yakupov's goal celebration and you could tell the kid plays with some serious tenacity and fire. I hope to god you guys go hard this season and bring a cup back home to canada in the near future.

With nothing but respect (and 5% jealousy) a proud Leafs fan. :yo::handclap:

you could see the fire in his eyes when he got robbed on that deke by quick, his eyes just wanted to scream but he kept it composed and potted the GTG

Are people actually concerned about the top line? Hall and Ebs are at a point a game and the Nuge has 2 points in 3............and should have more with some luck

Did you think they would all have hat tricks at this point?

Plus you do not switch up the second line unless you want Horcoff patrolling the top line......

i am pretty sure tsn told rishaug to do all that for the opening segment of sportcentre. None of it was even that bad, even Belanger he was joking threw a lot of it with the having to chase him around the ice part , it wasn't really serious. Teemu Selanne loved the celebration, which is awesome

Definitely kicked myself for having to go to bed before the 3rd started...

I wonder how many people that left the game disgusted after throwing beer all over the place felt the same way?

I'm amazed people ever leave early but you could see a lot of empty seats after the beer tossing when the first goal was called back.

Takes me back to the playoff game against Dallas in 97 When the Oilers were 3 goals down in the third period and scored 3 goals to tie and won it in OT. A couple thousand people left the game early.

It was great. I was SRO and then moved down to some great seats because why not?

I think Belanger should shut the **** up and not talk about a guy who is going to be 100x the player he ever was. Sorry if this was posted already.

If you watch the interview up on TSN, Belanger is clearly making light of the celebration by saying he isn't going to chase him all over the ice to congradulate him, it's pretty clearly delivered in a joking manner.

Rishaug blowing it out of proportion with that tweet.

I got the exact same impression watching the interview. It looks like TSN is fishing for a veteran to make a comment to try and create some controversy.

Rishaug is. He's been on him about it since the rookie camp. Even Terry Jones learned to step off after people got on his case of how he was treating the kid. How can a goal celebration ever be bad? Seriously.

I was 9 years old at that game with my Dad. He tricked me into thinking we were going to a Trappers game. Great memories.
