Parade?
There were rumors linking Kevin Bieksa to the Oilers. That has probably died.
So yes, a parade might be appropriate.
The Canadiens do have one wildcard in all this: Jakub Jerabek. The Czech blueliner excelled in the KHL last year, and if Nikita Zaitsev is any indication, could play first-pairing minutes. His skillset compliments Weber’s, and utilizing Alzner as a shutdown specialist in turn would limit the stress on Jerabek during his transition to NHL game speed. The question then becomes: 1) is Jerabek good enough to fill that hole, and 2) are the Canadiens willing to give the relative unknown a chance to try?
Worse players usually get worse contracts, what a thought.Good news he is considerable cheaper and has less term than last years big UFA signing....Russell.
He played what was left of the season with a leg brace and looked like a shadow.Sekera must have fallen hard if Jerabek can't be worst than him last year. I get that he was coming back from injury, but still.
When the 2017-18 Habs don’t want you, you ****ing suck.
Well, history has shown you can’t win without having 17 bottom pairing LH D right?
So I suppose this is just one more indication that our jackass GM is planning on having Russell stay on the RH side despite repeatedly proving he sucks donkey balls over there.
He's pretty awful. Once in a while you say "Holy crap what a pass by Jerabek!" shortly followed with "What the **** is Jerabek doing?".
... he was traded to the eventual Cup champs, though, so that logic is odd.
