Has better gameplay than we will likely see tonight.

How many backup goalies do we usually lose too? I wanna say most of them.

Yep, hate to say it. Anytime we get rookie goaltenders, we make em look like world beaters.

Plus, I have noticed that the Oilers seem to play harder against the good teams, and then let down against the weaker ones. Hope that doesn't happen again, but if they don't skate, and hit, and create, Leafs could run away with this.

Love the GDT. Ice hockey was an unreal game. Best line up included 3 skinny guys and one fat guy for unloading from the point.

Beauty.

5-2 Oilers.

Name that player......

"Aged 20 years, 223 days, he made his NHL debut on November 1, 1985, and posted a 2-0 shutout win over the Edmonton Oilers"

I think you underestimate the suckiness of this team. To borrow a quote...

"You think the suck is your ally? You merely adopted the suck. We were born in it, molded by it."

It really is sad how similar our teams are in that regard. We've gone about it in different ways, but gotten to about the same level of gross suckiness over the last decade

at least you're not on the brink of setting the missing the playoffs record.

So it's a game we should win by a landslide IMO.

We are facing a new backup, which typically means shut out or blowout.

Our line up is looking good...

It's a must win/should win that unfortunately is going to be a loss.

Games like this, if they dial in like they have against some of our stronger opponents, is practically unloseable. A win would be huge for the team but I doubt they themselves feel that way.

Every game had to be treated as a playoff game, but they just can't get into that mentality. Thought McLellan was clearly the best guy to do that, still do. But apparently some players might not be competitive enough for this to sink in.

Cherelli has some tough choices in the near future. Especially if the Oilers continue to lose to teams like this.

Rather that than nearly 50 years without a title or even a finals appearance.

Nor is one playoff appearance in a decade and that in a lockout shortened season much more to brag about.

Two storied franchises boasting about how their team sucks more than the other.

Sports definitely aren't what they used to be.

Not buying the "oh woe is me" Oiler mentality anymore and hopefully the team doesn't either. Beatdown tonight by Hallsy and Dr. Drai. Loving how the D are finally shooting more too.

5-1 Oilers

Heres some not so bold predictions

Sparks- in his first NHL game, stops 45 of 45. Rookie adrenline

Kadri- Having one of the unluckiest seasons for a player probaly in the last 10 years scores 3 goals and adds 2 assists to break out of the funk big time

Oilers- lose 5-0 to a bottom feeder and this starts to wheels of motion for a big sell off. Chiarelli doesnt like Toronto (assumption) and is already on edge about the Oilers lack of success. This is the final straw. Unfortuantly Eberle is slumping a bit and Yak is out so cant be traded. Ebs is dealt for poor return and lights it up. Yak comes back and doesnt do anything, even with mcdavid

Pessimistic, but not that far fetched

Nope. If Bernier was playing I'd say we win but Sparks will probably have a 35 save shutout.

35? Pfft.

40+ easily, just like that Philly game where we made Neuvirth look like Hasek

In all seriousness though I think the Oil take this one. Beating Pittsburgh in their own rink will give the team a boost.

I'll say 4-1. Nilsson continues his strong play.

Oilers win as they are inspired by the Esks grey cup victory. Or so I hope
