I See Patrick as a future 25 goal 50 pts two way centre- Konecny a speedy gritty winger who can score 30-35 goals on Mcdavids wing. Simmonds a power forward another 25-30 goal guy. If Simmonds doesn't sign long term with Oilers by TDL trade him for other valuable assets to a Stanley cup contender.

Thats because I think Patrick will be a ppg 2 way center. Others may not see that in him anymore and decline, which I understand. Patrick would also give us someone to play the left wall on the pp and a high end right shot center.

He had a lot of nagging injuries in his draft year.

Injuries might always be a concern, but if he stays healthy, he’ll be solid.

How a player can hypothetically do on Mcdavids wing is not a good selling point imo. Can’t even count how many threads where I’ve seen “player x would score 40+ playing with Mcdavid.” “He would be a perfect fit for Mcdavid!”

I'd be tempted, because of Draisaitl, but Patrick & Konecny is a hell of a lot of value coming back. It may take awhile but Patrick's going to be a Couturier-level center at some point. Konecny might hit 30 goals as soon as this season with a little luck.

Imo this deal all depends on what you view Patrick as going forward. I think he'll be as good as Drai so I accepted.

Indeed I’ve been following his progress. I really liked that pick by the oilers. Knock on wood he’s been healthy and he’s showing what he can do.

I personally don't see Patrick ever being on Draisaitl's level. He had a 77 point season, and then the following season on a terrible team with 0 winger support, he puts up 70 in 78. He's good defensively, amazing on face-offs, and one of the best in OT. I don't think Patrick ever gets there.
