Petry wanted a longer deal and mctavish signed him to a 1 year show me and then traded him

Does anyone have a link to confirm this? I remember it differently. The talk I recall was that Petry wouldn't sign a long term deal and only wanted one year. Then MacT traded him because he was going to be a UFA.

Pretty sure MacT wanted the one year deal. He even challenged Petry in the pressor, something along the lines of him having to prove himself.

At the end of last year I felt strongly that we had to challenge Jeff on a one-year deal. I didn’t like where his game was going. I didn’t like the urgency in his game and the decisiveness in his game and I thought it was important that we challenge him on a one-year deal.

Nurse is beyond bottom pair. He needs to do some heavy lifting so he grows into his potential.
Klef - Larsson
Nurse - Russell
Sekera - Bouchard/Benning (Sekera as the steady veteran)

If paired with Bouchard he would certainly be doing a lot of heavy lifting defensively. I guess it makes more sense to have Sekera or Russell paired with Bouchard since Nurse has lapses of his own.
