In looking at it--that December/Jan road trip could be killer ad then the road trip that covers the Olympic break right in the middle could be interesting

I booked at Vegas trip like 6 months ago for cheapness reasons for October 22-25. Get there that morning at 1030, will be perfect to go catch the game that night, completely unintentional.

As long as we have no more border lockdowns

My buddy came over to watch the draft and test out some good rum tonight and when the schedule comes out we check out what roadies we can do. We’re trying to see the Oil in every rink and a little over half ways there. We decided this year to tackle to a few Canadian rinks due to border issues. (Montreal Ottawa Vancouver - want to get to Seattle but might give it a miss till the 22-23 season)

My wife and I just came back from the US on a necessary trip due to a death in the family and what a pain in the ass coming back. My wife is a huge Vegas fan (pisses me right off) and we will try to do one of the Vegas games down there but need all the Covid testing to come home. Not sure I want all the hassle.

RELEASE: Game times set for Oilers 2021-22 season
Edmonton Oilers Schedule

Game times now announced for this coming season. Quantity of each start time (in MT) is listed below :

10:30am - 1 - (1 Away)
11:00am - 3 - (3 Away)
12:00am - 1 - (1 Away)
1:00pm - 1 - (1 Home)
5:00pm - 12 - (1 Home, 11 Away)
5:30pm - 3 - (3 Away)
6:00pm - 5 - (2 Home, 3 Away)
6:30pm - 6 - (2 Home, 4 Away)
7:00pm - 19 - (18 Home, 1 Away)
7:30pm - 6 - (5 Home, 1 Away)
8:00pm - 23 - (12 Home, 11 Away)
8:30pm - 2 - (2 Away)

Of note there are 6 morning/afternoon games (including 2 back-to-back sets New Year's and end of February), as well as 31 games starting after 7pm. Of the 8 back-to-backs on the season, with 2 of them (March 21-22, April 11-12) there is less than 24 hours between games (23 hours). So overall, besides the weird scheduling where 7 times the Oilers have to leave home for a single road game and then return home (or vice-versa) the schedule is pretty decent.

Looking forward to making the treck across the border and down the highway to catch one of the Seattle games in December.

That would be great and I hope you can. Don’t forget the Covid test to cross to the US and to come back to Canada. That’s an extra $300 in Covid tests.

I decided I am not going to do any US games this season. I have season tickets so I’ll watch all the games I can here in Edm. I might do 1 in Vancouver.

I thought fully vaccinated could come and go as they pleased...but maybe not...

With the Olympics. It looks like there will be tight restrictions on who can physically go. One of my buddies helps produce the videos and for the Japanese games he did it all from his cabin in Ontario and it looks like the support guys will be doing it the same for chinese games

Per the schedule changes announced today, updated quantities of each start time (in MT) is listed below :

10:30am - 1 - (1 Away)
11:00am - 3 - (3 Away)
12:00am - 1 - (1 Away)

7:30pm - 6 - (5 Home, 1 Away)
8:00pm - 23 - (12 Home, 11 Away)
8:30pm - 2 - (2 Away)

Basically, instead of having a B2B on the road against Minnesota and Nashville, then having two days off and having a B2B at home against Vegas and Vancouver, they have no B2Bs that week and will instead finish the regular season one day later, having a B2B at home against San Jose and Vancouver.
