This is incorrect.

The players were removed from the CHL import draft because the Government of Canada changed the rules regarding entry of people from these countries. They were inadmissible into Canada at the time, making it senseless to have them in the draft.

EDIT: The Canadian Government decided virtue signaling points were more important*. US Government and thus the USHL & NCAA didn't ban Russians & Belarussians, thus the USHL and NCAA benefit.

This incompetent and treasonous government caring more about virtue signaling doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Shame would've been fun seeing Levshunov paired with Molendyk potentially.
