Thought it would be a good idea to round up all the media predictions for the Finals. Love how many of them give us little to no chance:

Pierre LeBrun: I would have predicted a five-game win for the Kings had they taken care of business in Game 6 at home against the Blackhawks. Instead, the Kings were taxed to the limit by Chicago, had to fly to Chicago and back, and poured every ounce they had in finishing off the Blackhawks. I feel better about New York making this a series because of it. Still ... West is best. Kings in 7. (ESPN.com)

Barry Melrose: Kings in 6 (on Sportscenter)
John Buccigross: Kings in 7 (on Sportscenter)
Steve Levy: Rangers in 6 (On Sportscenter)

I am sure I am missing more! We can update this as more trickle out!

The media is going to always take safe pick. No one wants to risk going against the grain only to end up looking like an ass. In the event that they're wrong after picking the popular vote, their defense is "everyone picked that team, no one saw this coming." It's not quite the same when you pick the underdog and you're wrong.

Regardless, **** the media.

Rangers in 6. :yo:

I picked Rangers in 6 over Anaheim before playoffs started. Will stick with Rangers in 6 over LA.

Rangers in 7. LA can't handle the pressure of having a game 7 at home.

Game 1: Rangers by a big margin
Game 2: LA with a tight win.
Game 3: Rangers with a Henke win. (2-1 + /-)
Game 4: LA with an OT win.
Game 5: NY with another Henke win.
Game 6: LA bounces back big time, Hanke is pulled.
Game 7: The Forum is studded with actors and producers. LA can't handle the pressure. Henke shuts it down completely. Beckham pulls his LA uniform to reveal his Brooklyn tatoo.

Denis Potvin on NHL Network on Sirius/XM this morning predicted Kings in 5.

I wonder if he's still sore about the whole "Potvin Sucks" thing :sarcasm:

Anze Kopitar simultaneously puts on a Rangers jersey, turns around to the bench and slams Dustin Brown with the steel chair as his theme song plays, while the PA guy laments how much of a ******* he is.

Srs Bsns: Either Kings in 5 or Rangers in 6. I don't think this goes 7 games.

My heart is with the Rangers. That said, gun to my head, I think I would have to go Kings. I don't see them clinching at MSG so I'm left with game 5 or 7. Since neither of these teams knows that a series can only be 5 games, I'll predict Kings in 7... but will hope for Rangers in 6.

I think the Rangers are going to fall behind in the series, 2-0 or 3-1, and the story will be how well they can play with their backs against the wall fighting their way back into things.

I'd be outright shocked if we won in less than 7, and I'd be quite surprised if we lost in less than 6. Should be a long series.

AV will complain about the officiating.
Rangers will win games 2 and 4.
Then the crystal ball fogs over.
