Legitimate best chance based on what? I think we are 3rd after Florida and Dallas in vegas odds...not that I give a crap about that. The sportsbook is offering me a couple times what I bet on NYR to cash in now...but I'm all in!
Based on being the best team in the post season so far? On just beating the team that was favored to win the cup when the second round started?

Brod and Vesey would be my scratches for the next round. Can make a case for any of Chytil, Rempe, Wheeler over those two. Brod should be no where near this series. Vesey has unfortunately cratered. I still think they will need Rempe at some point this series, but you can probably only play him at home with last change.
I don't see Vesey being next guy coming out,
he's part of the PK rotation, and maybe the guy to backfill a wing in top 6/9 if needed
he wasn't much of a factor vs Canes, but some of that changes every series, every game
He's also maybe more likely to chip in a 2-point game than Brodz, Rempe, or a just recovering Wheeler

personally, I won't mind if Rempe doesn't dress again this spring
too much at stake, too much needed from every single guy

but I won't be surprised if some roster moves are forced on NYR
injuries happen in playoffs, NYR has been an outlier, so far, as they've added healthy bodies, rather than lost some

President's trophy. First team to advance into both rounds. Only 10 playoff games played so far. Home ice no matter what in the next 2 rounds. Vegas odds are horseshit. Canes were the Cup favorite going into our series. If the rangers play their game for another month, it's ours.

The organization has a lot of growing up to do not only with player development, but also in terms of toning down the arrogance. obnoxiousness, and the "our shit don't stink" stuff that emanates from that team. Fans of a lot of teams just don't like them, and that dislike is becoming a hate.

It was pretty ridiculous that the Canes brought up the Rangers diving in almost every postgame availability. That's not the behavior of a team with their heads screwed on tight. They lack leadership. Sorry Jordan Staal, you probably shouldve showed up before game 5

I think Igor frustrated the Canes. Ample opportunities to bury the Rangers and he kept coming up big or they hit the iron. Then Freddie decides to let a soft one in and that was the final straw.

Earlier in the series the Canes passed up on so many higher danger chances and opne looks but were looking for the perfect shot to beat Igor. If Lindgren doesn't take the penalty it's a sweep.

The save he made on Svechnikov late was one of his best ever when you factor in context.

I want a better look at the Staal penalty. I have no doubt it was soft but I dont' think Zibanejad dives often so much as he loses his balance engaged along the boards a lot

also thought the call on kreider was soft. oh no he pushed the guy a bit

I see a lot of people have superstition stories from last night, so I'll share mine even though it isn't remarkable at all. I was initially in no jersey but down one threw on a blue Panarin. When Carolina got it to two, I switched to a white Leetch liberty. At 3-1 I thought maybe the Leetch isn't working either, but I stuck with it for some reason and the rest is history.

Obviously all of our actions turned the tides of the game and sent us to the ECF.

Zibanejad was never known to be strong on his feet. And it wasn't a last-second turn to the boards. Staal had Zibanejad's numbers the whole time and he still gave him a shove to the lower back.

Right before that Skjei (I think) clearly fired a puck straight over the glass and we didn't get the call so either way we deservedly ended up on the power play.

Get Sling, if affordable. Has ESPN, TNT, TBS and TRU (for an extra buck or so.) I had to ADD that when the prior game went to OT on TNT, I was freakin' out missing the start of Capitals game. To find out it was only that $$, I left it, should that happen again.

Thanks, do I need additional hardware for it or it just streams?

Vegas probably has NJD as higher odds to win the cup because of shots times chances and x Gorps Fur or something. I don't know, I can barely read.

Couple of thoughts:
  • Lindgren? Really? Nice City.
  • The Rangers tying PP goal was incredible. We are so hung up on how bad they are in this area or that, but that was a masterclass of skill. Everyone touched the puck, shifted the defense perfectly to get the clean look for Panarin, and of course the high skill deflection.
  • Carolina really earned respect in the handshake line

Rod said it well i thought. It was a bit of a soft call but you can't hit a guy in the numbers in that area of the ice, its gonna get called. He also kinda acknowledged that it was a makeup call for the Skjei puck over the glass. At least thats how I interpreted what he said.

Rewatching the highlights, It kinda felt like the Canes thought 2-0 would be enough. Trocheck quick response was a massive massive goal. I know Carolina made it 3-1 but at that point I though things had shifted a bit. there was still half a game to go. Thats a century for this Rangers team. Especially because martinook saved their bacon for a moment right after that. Rangers were coming.

Every game, Tripp Tracy is whining about SOMETHING the officials do, whether it's too many penalties against Carolina, diving, no calls against the opponent, trends in how games are officiated against Carolina. It can't be just him; it seems to be an organizational call, since Brind'Amour is ALWAYS talking about officiating. Their whole fanbase is caught up in how some teams dive and get away with this and that.

Before they got rid of John Forslund, the whining was at a minimum. I just have to wonder if the lowball offer to the guy who had done games for them back to the Hartford days was less a "cost cutting" move, and more of one to present the games in such a biased format to create and even smaller but much more rabid fanbase.

Their social media accounts talk so much crap for a team that's never won a thing. It's classless and unprofessional and not only do they flaunt it but they think its endearing. Dundon was praised when he came in but the Canes culture is being cheap and not good enough to win the big one. Then they whine. I mean they brought deAngeLOL in twice when he was radioactive and just not a good player. They have been doing this dance with Rod for years about paying him. Letting Trocheck walk for nothing. Ignoring goaltending. The bad decisions are piling up.

Is it my imagination, or did the Devils board mods delete all discussions about us? Their around the league thread jumps from Wednesday to today.

Ok, I see their board has an OOT Scoreboard thread and an around-the-league playoff thread. Confusing.

Serious talk for a second. Just was watching some replay and just noticed that Roslovic not only took the rub out as he entered the zone on Kreider's first goal but also, while down on one knee, kicked the puck back up the boards to Mika. Great play by him. Then of course Mika's smooth between the legs.

Staal's cross-check call just should've been a boarding call but that whiny :eek::eek::eek: RB would have probably still complained about it.

Also wish Kreider would have scored on that outside/inside move on Burns at the 6 min left mark of the third. He really was a monster all over the ice showing off all his best attributes.

I've read the explanations and I still don't get fans turning off a game. I put the game on at the beginning and watch to the last second, win or lose. I've been watching my teams like that my whole life. I never let the results of a game ruin my life. It's sports. You almost always lose the last game of the year. It's the amazing wins, like yesterday, that make it all worthwhile.

Does anyone have Sam's call on Kreider's first and second goals? Of course, the third goal was the wildest, but I want to hear the buildup of hope/"is this really happening?" in Sam's voice.
