Reserving this post for links, can a mod please copy/paste my list here from the last thread?

THE FACTS:

(Please keep the following in mind: Only some of these are "facts". Many of these are only rumours from sources that can be considered "credible" within the hockey community. The author of this post is not responsible for the blatant misuse of "rumours" as "facts" - this is only here as a quick-link resource for anyone who is curious about sources for Senators-related trade & UFA news... The onus of responsibility of what is done with this information is on the reader. As usual, common sense should prevail. Thanks.)

Considering that Anaheim got Kesler and there were no solid offers on the table, I'm fairly pleased they didn't cave in and take a lesser offer.

I've felt for some time that July 1 is the time to do this deal.

Firstly, once Stastny is off the table, a lot of teams are going to be left scrambling.

Secondly, this allows time for Murray to try to talk Spezza into broadening his list.

Lastly, waiting until the 1st opens up the possibility of a sign and trade, and if he's willing to sign for a decent price, it should considerably raise his value.

I agree that Stastny to St. Louis would be bad news, but even still, i think there is still a decent chance that a resigned Spezza nets a package on par with what Vancouver got. Maybe more if we can package him with a defenseman. I sure hope so anyway.

I can't see Spezza going to St Louis at all. He is a horrible fit for Hitchcock's system.

Nashville is making some nice moves...they look like they want to make a run sooner rather than later.

So many teams could make a play for Spezza...agree with Senility. We're going to see some sweet offers in July.

Yea I see a trade happening almost immediately after Stastny signs. July 1st should be the perfect day.

If there's post-Stastny-signing action, it'll probably happen on the 2nd. Stastny signs on the first, the 2 or 3 teams who missed on Stastny put in offers, Murray takes the evening to confer with Spezza and his agent, and pull the trigger by noon the next day.

7-8 days from now, Murray is gonna look like a genius for waiting it out. Unless he was getting the value he wanted, there was absolutely no reason to trade Spezza at time where teams have other options.

I pray to Alfie that the Neal trade changes Spezza's mind.

Our best hope is Stastny signs with a team like Chicago or NYR.

COL+STL+NSH+PHX will be gnawing for Spezza.

Ideally, Stastny going to NYR would make it easier to move Spezza to any of those teams listed above including Chicago and Dallas as well. And with all being division rivals with the exception of PHX, you know they are going to try to "one up each other".

The one thing that could screw things up is if Spez is demanding too much money. It's all about the contract extension I think and if he really wants to get something done before September, he'll play ball.

Not sure how I feel about Murray's refusal to let other teams negotiate until a deal is worked out. I get his logic, but there's no question that the risk that he walks is scaring some teams off.

As much as I want to be patient and wait this out for a great return. I really can't handle more than another week extra with this Spezza stuff.

My head and time are still haunting me after that Heatley bull****.

I was in 3 different countries(over the span of when he first asked to get traded till the actual trade) running from internet cafe to internet cafe to see if he got traded. Nothing was worse than waking up 4 am in the morning in Dubai trying to find an internet cafe open to see if Heatley waved his NTC for the EDM deal. I almost punched a puppy on the way back when nothing happened.

I wonder if the discussion between Maloney and Murray at the draft had something to do with that.

I think a couple of things happened that will prolong the Spezza trade.
1. The cap came in lower than some teams thought and that has forced them to re-evaluate their plans. 2. Stastny is in play still, obviously everybody that wants a center wants to see if they can get him without giving up any assets. 3. I think BMurr is telling Jason, there is someone on your list that we can get a deal with, go there or stay here. You decide.
I don't think this gets decided until after the first day of free agency.

That defense core is garbage. Five bottom pairing dman and we lose a #1 dman, top 5 player.

I see 4 top 4 d men in 2 years. Phillips leave. Claessen (the savior ) steps in. I see what will be one of the best top nines
