I don't think i have seen a thread about this yet. Isn't it time to list some weird/dissapointing/exiting stats from different players or teams this season? These are always fun to read trough.

For myself i think Dubnyks 3 consecutive shutouts so early in the season and Forsbergs point totals for example are funny.

Andrew Hammond (aka The Hamburglar) exited the game between Ottawa and Calgary after the first period the other night.

I hope this meets OP's requirements.

the Wild leading the league in goals scored while shooting 13+% while being near last in shots taken is funny.

I think last night ROOT mentioned that Cullen has the best p/60 beating even McDavid.

I think last night ROOT mentioned that Cullen has the best p/60 beating even McDavid.

Wild Rookie Joel Eriksson Ek is actually on top of that stat among skaters playing more than one game. Just a touch above Crosby. McDavid is #10 if you don't count the guys with one game.

i guess that's a weird fact in itself

it's a fun thing to look at every once in a while. nhl.com has it under stats/players change the report to Points/Penalties per 60 min. none of Eriksson Eks are PP btw

Jake Allen currently leads all goalies with a short handed save percentage of .977

Devan Dubnyk is I believe second with a short handed save percentage of .968

On a related note, the wild and Blues are #1 and #2 respectively in pk%

Hyman has one point, both his linemates have 10 points each. How does that even happen? Not even a couple of garbage secondary assists.

The Flyers have the 3rd best Zone starts % in the league at 5v5... and have allowed the 11th least SA/60 at 5v5.

But their GA/60 at 5v5 in 2nd worst in the NHL.

Reason: goalies and amount of high % chances.

They are great at not letting opponents in the zone... but when they get there = breakdowns galore.

The Habs are winning despite horrible GM, coach and trades, was told they were all terrible and none of it was true.

Leading scorer for the Panthers: Jonathan Marchessault (he's also tied for 3rd in the league with guys such as Marchand, Malkin, and Weber).

Richard Panik has scored 6 goals on 11 SOG.

Antoine Vermette is 96-40 on faceoffs.

Chicago has given up 15 PPG in 8 games, whereas the Wild have given up 1 in 9.

Rangers are the most disciplined team with only 46 PIM through 8 games (for reference, the Red Wings lead the league with 127, and Anaheim and Calgary are both over 100).

Montreal has given up only 13 goals in 9 games, and the Flyers have given up nearly 3 times that (35 in 9).

Edmonton Oilers are 2nd in Even Strength GF/GA ratio in the league when they've been bottom 2 to 5 since 2009 even with an ES beast like Hall. This is what is called the McDavid effect.
