Walker and Mcfarlane are untouchable in Guelph given that new coach is Walker's dad.

Hamilton can get alot for Hayes and Diaco now and then trade Morrison at deadline and bring in another load.
Forgot about Walker being the coach but why would that make McFarlane not moveable?

Mainstays

Montgomery/Keane (1 of them will be moved and remain in OHL)
Morrison/Hayes (1 of them will be moved and remain in OHL)
Onuska/Medina (1 of them will be moved and remain in OHL) Currie will be expendable?
Lemieux may be expendable and out of OHL?
Hill should find a spot in the OHL
Panwar/Terry may be expendable but both have outside shot at landing an OHL OA spot

Bolded guys should be locks for remaining OA spots in OHL. Things may change for instance if Barrie keeps Lemieux dman then one of their OA forwards will be dealt and should find an OA spot.
Attack has held 1 F spot open for an OA

well if guelph is gonna make a run I’m sure they’d sacrifice a guy with 18 career goals for a big time OA upgrade but who knows

McFarlane is a playoff-built player. So while I agree that Guelph may upgrade on OA, I don't think McFarlane is moved. His value on the trade market is less than his value on the team. I could see Guelph going for a big '03 F/D combo. The Storm are in need of a top 4 left defenseman to solidify their group for a powerhouse run. I could see George going for the best F/D combo available at the deadline. Walker is at Flames camp now, so perhaps he chooses to play AHL and earn a paycheque if there is an offer available.

So if a team has 4 OA's after noon today, they have to release one to waivers and teams with extra spots available can pick them up? Is that how it works?

I don't think so but even if they can, the probably don't want to. Teams that have less than 3 OA's typically do so on purpose because they are trying to get younger players more playing time. If they wanted the player, at the deadline they could offer up like a 6th-8th round pick for that player and get them quite easily since the team is going to have to waive the player otherwise.

Nevermind...I was wrong...Terry Doyle clarified it in a tweet:

Jake Uberti is no longer listed on the Mississauga Steelheads roster. He has gone to Acadie-Bathurst of the QMJHL. Joe Ranger has been released by the Sudbury Wolves
