THIS IS A CONTINUE OF THE MAIN THREAD, JUST KEEP POSTING ALL CONVERSATION IN HERE THAT DOESN'T BELONG IN THE OTHER THREADS.
I've decided to scratch the original idea and I am starting all over again. If you suscribed to my original fantasy game you can keep the teams if you choose (however you must post claim to that team again). Again, I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW MUCH FUN THIS WILL BE IF YOU SIGN UP, IT'LL BE WELL WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT. So, now calling all armchair GM's, I gladly present to you NYSportsfan6230's NEW Official Fantasy Draft Game!!
If you are interested in helping me run this thing, you can also ask to be an Assistant Commish. There will be two Assistant Commish's if people want to help me out, it would be much appreciated.

STEP 1- NHL PLAYER DRAFT/TRADES
- A fantasy draft of 32 rounds will take place. You will be starting with a team from scratch. You will be drafting 20 NHL roster spots and 12 AHL spots. The order will reverse every round, so the team picking 30th in round 1 will be picking 1st in round 2 and so on.
- You are not allowed to draft people from this coming NHL Entry Draft. You can't also draft players overseas if they are under contract (meaning Jagr is off limits but someone like Radulov is allowed because he is under NHL contract).
- Salary cap is $56.8 million.
- YOU WILL HAVE A MAXIMUM OF 8 HOURS TO MAKE YOUR PICK. Should you not make your pick within the 8 hours, there will be 4 hours of extra time. If this happens three times you will be kicked out of the league.
- In between the Fantasy Draft and the Entry Draft there will be 1-2 weeks of just trading, no other activities will go on during this period except trades. You are allowed to trade during both drafts as well.
STEP 2- NHL ENTRY DRAFT/TRADES
- When completing trades I need to see the following so I know it's official (I also need both GM confirmation that the trade was accepted)
On the topic line I would like it to say “FINAL TRADE”. I would also like to have the pictures of each team. Also, both GMs need to confirm the trade is agreed upon via post.
Here is an example of what it would actually say:
(team picture) trades __________ to (team picture) for ____________.
- Once both the NHL Draft and Entry draft is completed anyone can be traded (future picks, AHL, and NHL players)
- The Entry draft will only be 3 rounds. You will have 16 hours to make you pick in the entry draft.
- We have waivers in this league. If you want to send a player down to the minors (that in the NHL, he has a one way contract) The players will have to clear waivers. You have 16 hours to claim someone off of waivers, and the first person to post it, or PM me, gets the player. If you decide to call them back up (becuase they weren't claimed going down) then they have to go on re-entry waivers.
- ANY CHANGES IN THE LEAGUE WILL HAVE TO BE APPROVED BY EVERY GM.
STEP 3-FREE AGENCY/TRADES
- Free agency will last 3 weeks.
- A list of free agent players of note will be put on the boards.
- Someone will take a claim to a player (i.e. some poster will be the agent for Ilya Kovalchuk).
- GM's will give the players they target an offer, and the poster will decide based on the reasons give, and the ammount of the offer, which team they will sign with.

About the Draft Order:
The fantasy draft will be in snake format- this means that the team with the 30th pick in round one will have the 1st pick in round 2, with the order of teams reversing after every round.
About the Entry Draft:
I think this is going to work like so. Upon completion of the fantasy draft, in this thread, each team will post there lines and we will vote for the order of the entry draft. I will start with what I think are the 5 best teams based on the outcome of the fantasy draft- trades that happen during the draft will count but the voting will take place before trading of players occurs. We will then count down to the worst team and that will be the order of the Entry Draft (anyone can vote).
About Free Agency:
Once all the agents are hired for the players (we are using this upcoming FA class)- GM's will have a 1-2 week period where they can negotiate with their players to get them resigned. Should the player hit free agency all offers presented to the agents will have to include the following: years, contract amount, potential linemates, and 1-2 sentences on why they should sign with your team.
MORE RULES:
- YOU MUST BE ACTIVE, IF YOU ARE NOT I WILL NOT HESITATE TO REMOVE YOU AS GM.
- No lopsided trades, we need to keep this realistic.
- The Entry Draft order is already made and not subject to change unless you make trades.
- The order of the NHL draft will work as follows: The same day that the last GM signs up for the league I will look at the NHL Standings and Start with the team in last and go in reverse order. This order will stay the same through each round (i.e. if Edmonton gets the 1st pick in Round 1, they will have the 1st pick in round two.
- For some information regarding draft prospects, CSS (most reliable IMO) http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=59880 has recently posted their Mid-Season rankings, and you can check out a couple of mock drafts at www.mynhldraft.com, as well as http://nhlyoungguns.com.
- Feel free to reshape your team via buyouts and stuff like that as it makes it feel more realistic.
Lastly, please bear with me, this is my first time (of hopefully many more times) doing this so I may have some difficulties but I will do my best to make it work out.
