He was legitimately "adequate" for us 2 seasons ago in Nashville. When he plays within his limitations and the team has a good defensive structure, he can absolutely be a regular #6/7 guy. His mobility isn't great, but it's not the absolute worst either, and of course his wingspan helps make up for it. He was better than Tinordi, although not as aggressive. Last season he struggled more, but also our defensive structure was pretty shaky down the stretch, so he couldn't really sustain being an NHL player for us anymore. I would expect the only reason he waited this long for an NHL contract was that he was really holding out hopes for a 1-way deal in the summer, which simply wasn't coming. Any team could use him as a #9/10 guy on the depth chart, though, I'm sure he could have scored a 2-way deal much much sooner if he had been willing to take one.

Did nothing in Draft+1, mediocre Draft +2, nothing much in Draft +3, and then in Draft+4 and 5 he looked like a legitimate prospect. Brought him to the NHL and he just never took a step.

Too bad, he had a lot of tools.

WTF does a #7 D have to do with replacing a top pairing one?
I didn't say anyone in particular was DIRECTLY replacing Lindy.
Assuming we did not take back a D in any such deal,
likely pairs =
KAM=Trouba
Robertson-Schneider

Assuming we are holding out early promo of Scanlin
that means Hajek w/Fox
OR
if we think Skinner is sufficiently further along, we could do
Fox on off side - Skinner

chill pill
I get you prob don't want to trade Lindgren, period.
I only want us to think about moving him
IF there is a REALLY good offer
AND
it helps w/cap to keep most of our core going forward

This is your new #9 d-man.
I believe it was the Beatles, John Lennon in particular, who said it first:
#9,
#9,
#9,
#9,

I don't know which is worse. Hajek on the top pairing or moving Fox to his off side for Hunter Skinner

I swear some of these guys get contracts just because GM's recognize their names.

Neither.
Worse is if we are unable to juggle until bread $$$ is up or Trouba 2 yrs earlier, we do not move Lindy's $3m, give him a raise, and lose other core guys.
Or like Buch, we wait until the last possible second to move him, and get a fraction of what he is worth now.

Anyway, Scanlin IMO is real deal, and Skinner I see possible if given the chance.
Scanlin is a yr away.
