I don't know if I'm fine with this or not. I feel like quality over quantity should be a consideration here and I really wanna package the 22nd with another asset for a solid roster player but maybe there's just nobody out there. Guess we'll see what happens

No problem with this at all. Don’t think much is different between 22 and high 2nd round

They have the chance to have such a great draft. There will still be really good talent in the 2nd. They’re already coming away with the best player in the draft everything else will be a bonus. Not too happy as an isles fan.

I'm pretty sure a majority of teams want to do this :dunno:

It's a very deep draft, and having 2 picks in the 30-45 range is better than having 1 pick around 20. I think the only teams who wouldn't want to do this are teams with a lot of picks.

It's not a huge difference, but important to note that anything after pick #48 is actually a pick higher.

Because rather than just counting Calgary as pick #49, the NHL, for some reason, has to call #49, "Pick Forfeited."

Detroit and Ottawa are going to have to many players to sign in a couple of years with all these picks. Both should look at this. More so Detroit. That’s about fair value too. Two 2nds for the 22nd.

22 for 32 and 45?

I'd be more inclined to do 45 and 55.

I doubt there's a huge difference between what's available at #22 and what's available at #32. Not keen on giving up #45 for that, especially considering some of the players Stevie has gotten in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

22 for 48 and 56 ? If there's someone at 22 the Habs really like, it could work.

EDIT: I think NYR would need to include a lower pick, 6th or 7th round, for it to work.
