I did like the guy though as a hockey player even if I’ve wanted to trade him for 5 years now

The Bruins weren't going to play him this year and he's still a good bottom-pairing guy with a tonne of character and toughness, which is good a rebuilding team like New York. Don't let the haters fool you, he can still skate and play (and definitely punch faces). In NY, he'll get some decent minutes and could probably recoup the 4th at the deadline if he's healthy.

Very good Penalty Killer, needs to be paired with someone to move the puck for him. Described as one of the nicest guys off the ice, but when he fights he punches to hurt.

McQuaid is the kind of player you get when you don't plan on competing, but want to show younger players how to stick up for themselves. The Devils did it with signing Luc Gadzic and trading for Dalton Prout.
