He was probably going to be protected in the expansion draft anyway. The list that most of us on the Isles board have agreed on is:

Tavares
Ladd (NMC)
Strome
Leddy
Hamonic
Boychuk (NMC)
Pulock
One of Nelson/Lee/deHaan
One of Halak/Berube

This is helpful - thanks.

Strome excelled at RW in his first year at the NHL, what made him struggle this year had a lot to do with his confidence.

Hopefully he rebounds and plays well either be his more natural center position or RW. But the Strome 2 years ago played with more of a bite and had a bit of a nasty streak to him. I wanna see that Strome again

Right - I get that. I was just wondering if expansion is an option if this "show me" opportunity doesn't work out.

I guess one of the other youngsters could have a breakout season and the isles choose to protect that player, instead of Strome.

Good standard bridge deal.

In his first three seasons with the Flyers BSchenn had 85 points in 183 games, then signed for two years at $2.5m AAV. Strome has 96 points in 189 games.

Had no idea he was even an RFA.

Seems like a low risk deal for the Isles. Strome has a ton of talent and despite his poor last season, he could make this an absolute steal for the next two years.
