I feel bad for him. He was one of the best for a short period, and then it just all faded away. It must be hard to go from being thought of as a sure fire star to signing two way contracts.

He was so good as a Canuck and had a very good (but relatively unheralded) 3 year run in NJ. A shame injuries and surgeries had to shorten his career as an NHL calibre goalie.

After last season with 0 NHL games played and 2 stellar AHL game performances, I think Lou’s loyalty may have been a bit misplaced.

You almost have to right now due to cross border issues. It looks like the Oilers will be carrying 3 goalies for that reason. Smith, Koskinen and Stalock.

How will we ever see another David Ayres? If anything there should be limits on how many goalies a team can carry and a mandate that once those goalies are all injured the zamboni driver has to suit up.
