Easy no from the Avs. There's no incentive whatsoever is this offer for the Avs to move Varlamov. None.

Avs have 2 1st rounders next year, including Ottawa’s delicious 1st. The picks do nothing.

So, now it’s a playoff team trading their starting goaltender for an inferior goaltender. Doesn’t make sense.

The acquisition of Grubauer does not mean Varlamov is going anywhere this season. The Avs expect to make the playoffs again and get better. Varlamov is required for that.

Sakic came out and said he isn’t moving Varly. Wants Varly and Grubauer to split starts. Considering Varly’s injury history + Grubauer’s unproveness it sort of makes sense to keep both for the next year, and then let Varly walk if Grubauer proves himself and takes the job.
