Can this idiot coach at least TRY Stecher in for Ceci? That useless goal on Shitlov probably got him some rope though...sigh

The analytics department better be shoving these stats sheets in the coaches faces at this point

We have an analytics department but I don't even think the coaches/management takes them seriously. Ceci would not be a top four d man on any actual cup contending roster.

The 2nd goal was a backbreaker. Much different going into the 3rd up 4-1 than 4-2, and that goal was terrible stick management by Skinner. Miller goal was awful should have sealed his post zero excuse not to. Zadorov goal also terrible can't find an untapped puck through 2 of his own guys from a mile out, and the Garland one LOL, nice five hole. Dumbass better bounce back or get the f*** out of the net.

Funny thing is Skinner was fine up until that 2nd goal that he put in his own net. PK was playing elite. Team wasn't doing much on offence, but gave up basically nothing all game. That's a game where letting in more than 2 or 3 goals is ECHL level. f*** off.
that garland goal misses the net by about 10 feet if skinner doesnt put it in.

To anyone that thought game 4 against the Kings was a "defensive masterclass": Periods two and three tonight are what that same game looks like most of the time.
Yup. Used it up vs LA and they had the arrogance to try again. This version of the Oilers hasnt shut a team down since 2017

Just replied to your earlier comments with this.

There is no way that is happening, If Drai didn't slash him back there would be no penalty at all.
Yeah. There was going to be no call. Clear as day, until Drai chopped him back. How does the NHL not have the back, excuse pun, of one of its superstars. If this is hockey now just get a gorilla out there taking out the stars of the game. Matching penalty....ffs

Well if we don’t get a split in Vancouver we might not win this.

Still think we take them in 5, but if they win the next one I’m not sure we come back.

The only way we lose this series is Skinner

Women weaken legs. Mickey said so! Lock Chloe in a basement somewhere until the playoffs are over!

just joking btw ;)

Honestly this was one of Nurse’s worst games of his career.

No egregious giveaways but his play reading and reaction time were unacceptable tonight. Lost count of how many times he was VERY slow to react and looked lost positionally.

Everyone in the arena could see the Garland play coming except for Nurse apparently. Took an eternity to read the play and by that time it was over, Garland beat him.

Got cooked in the faceoffs tonight

No greater indicator of effort disparity than getting waxed in the circle.

Faceoffs are effort plays and when you see a team get smoked to that degree, even if face offs aren’t necessarily their forte, it’s a pretty strong sign they’re the second hardest working team.

If the leadership can't get that out of their heads and move on, trade them in the off-season and rebuild

They won't win anything.
Agreed but what evidence do we have from this team that they can beat this years version of the Canucks?
No evidence so far.

I still maintain the first goal was awful. Any quality goalie reads the backboards bounce there and where puck is going. Skinner had no clue and hardly moved. Dakota had half an empty net to tuck it in. Theres no way in pro hockey that goal should be so easy.

I wonder what the Oilers felt to that point knowing they already scored 4 and that Skinner let in two stinkers on really what shouldn't even have been scoring chances.

When all the shots are going in one direction goaltending doesn't matter. Both goalies sucked.

3 shots in two periods is not a couple people f***ing up or a goalie problem. Looked like the Oilers felt they won the game in the first period. One step forward two steps back imo

Nuge scored a massive GWG against the Flames in 2022 game four. That goal was as clutch as it gets and gave the Oilers a 3-1 lead in the series. So not never. Just not tonight.
That was a crucial miss. When the Canucks are giving up so few chances you just have to bury any chance you do get especially when their goalie was as bad as he was.
