Ingram and Tampa had one of the weirdest underreported stories of the year. Ingram had excellent numbers than right around the deadline started to sit out. Lots of trade speculation but nothing came of it. Ingram said there were no discipline issues or injuries. Then Tampa sent him to the ECHL. Shortly thereafter his replacement in the AHL got injured and Ingram was brought back up for one game then sent back to the ECHL and Tampa said it was for his development and he wouldn’t be back in the AHL this year. No word on what or why the disagreement was over but apparently it was not resolvable.

22 years old and a .922 in 22 AHL games only gets a 7th in 2021?

Wow. Who’d he piss off in Tampa?
Hey look someone that actually discusses the players/transactions instead of suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper witty comments and memes!

It's a weird situation. Prospect Info: - 2016 3rd Round Pick: 88th overall Connor Ingram

That thread has a lot of info, but basically:

Was getting good numbers in the AHL, and unexpectedly got sent down to ECHL. Multiple times it appeared that it would have been time for them to recall him, but it never came. GM, Player and Agent all said no trade was requested and there was no injury.

Then agent says he thinks it's conditioning, to which Brisebois said he hasn't missed games cause he's out of shape. Then said it was an internal matter and there was no timetable for return.

That article linked above is a good one too.

Seems like a good backup for Grosenick, then maybe he gets the starting job the year after and if he performs well could potentially be a backup for Saros in the NHL.

He didn't exactly have a lot of value after his team sat him for half the season, but yeah, not a great return.

He didn't but whatever team he is going to he should be the starter. So trade him for their former starter or the backup they had if they were under contract. A 7th 3 drafts away is a slap in the face.

It has now disappeared from the NHL's trade tracker-- the only place that was reporting this trade.

edit: but now other reporters are confirming it

Rumors of internal issues (attitude or work ethic?), but I'm surprised a 7th was the best they could do. Unfortunate.

Agreed. That being typed, he was done with the Lightning. Hopefully he is a highly rated Tampa Bay prospect who flourishes once he leaves the organization.

Our GM - and I’m not being sarcastic.

Yeah, nobody knows the full story. Might have been something between him and his teammates. They seemed to want him nowhere near the locker room. I think the quote was, "It's best for all sides," to keep him in the ECHL, or something to that effect.
