Trade for Pavelec or call up Stolie. Pavs is real bad but can get hot, but he is miles better than what we are currently getting. Mase is mentally done again and I say close to zero chance he recovers , he is the worst Flyer and it's killing the team.

.739 is obviously awful, Mason was bad, but he isn't the only responsible. Our D can't play D. They're dynamic offensively, but they play so bad defensively that it results in quality chances for the opposing team, which results in a low sv%. Shouldn't be that low, but even with good goaltending, it would be low. Have you seen that MDZ turnover? Or that Ghost turnover at the end? Or Gudas totally screening Mason in ont of the goals. And why doesn't anyone clear the crease? They are a mess. Something has to be made. I get that this is a "transition year", but that D is unbalanced. Need guys who can also play defense. Hopefully Morin can change the dynamic of it in the future.

We have two goaltenders with zero confidence and 6 D who can't play D and let the other teams have high quality chances. You simply can not win that way.

There just isn't a defense anymore; Mason is done and Neuvirth isn't really any better regardless of how sub-optimal the defense is.

The question is, do we want subject Stolarz to an environment that he might not be ready for or do we just continue and pray to high heaven that something magical happens?

Absolutely worse, This has to be demoralizing for the skaters.

I think they need to make a trade for a quick fix or call up Stolie and see if he is ready for next year. Would have to waive one of the two sieves, but something has to give.

Stolie didn't play tonight so would be nice to see it happen tommorow

There is nothing to wake up. Gak does not have them playing sound D in transition and they keep giving up huge scoring chances, plus the goaltending. Its not like guys are half assing

It isn't all defense, every game a softie gets scored against, almost all break aways on Mase go in, what does it hurt to see ?

Changing goaltending won't really help imo. They will have horrible defense in front of them, bad stats and will lose their confidence. Same **** all over again. Ghost is awesome offensively, but average defensively. Provorov is nice offensively but still struggling defensively. MDZ is not a number 1 D at all. Gudas is a 5th D on most team. Quality one, but we can't rely on him to be one of our bests D. Streit is aging, almost done. Still contributes on the PP, but other than that he makes a lot of mistakes. Schultz is done too. None of them can play defense.
