Notre Dame will not participate in college football video game until new NIL rules are established

Notre Dame believes that college athletes should be able to benefit from the use of their likenesses in the video game.


Hammer. Let's see what power EA has with NCAA to get those rules in place.

More likely they take the route of just putting in a team and calling it South Bend the way they did with the original game back in the 90s until they got the licensing some time around 96.

Was that the ol Bill Walsh Football for the Genesis? I had a few of those games I believe but don't remember if it was Notre Dame or South Bend

That would be the one. They took that approach for a few private schools at the time due to licensing issues. Still have those games somewhere I think, not quite NHL94 level for playing those again today but they were pretty groundbreaking at the time.
