1) Why not ask on the Islanders' board, or even the Finnish one?

2) We're not Milbury.

Because no one knows.

Here's what is known:

1. He likes it in Finland and plays for a team where he gets to play on the top line and in every game situation, so it's very good for his development. The AHL doesn't seem like it holds anything additional for him, other than adjusting to the NA game. Past interviews suggest that he is not interested in the AHL and would like to continue to work on his game in Finland.

2. He attended the Islanders prospect camp this summer, so he definitely has aspirations to come over at some point.

I personally see him continuing to develop in Finland until he is ready to take a spot on the Isles roster. When that is, is anyone's gues - probably 1-3 years. But hopefully sooner than later!

quick response

he's signed with a euro team already , but I'm pretty sure its a situation the isles are comfortable with

so , he wont be in AHL in 05-06 unless something changes between now and oct

Like Nilsson, Nokie wants to work on his game in Europe for a little while longer--he seems to feel that he his really hitting his stride. Unlike Nilsson however, the fact that he attended the prospect camp on Long Island/Bridgeport shows that he does want to come over at some point. I give it a year.

This should be the real breakthrough season for him.
Nokelainen is now in alot better team than before. Hopefully he'll be in 1st or 2nd line and make some great plays. Well see....

In a better team, yes, but it's not like his linemates were that bad last year, since he played quite a lot with Frank Banham last season.
