I looked and saw no threads on this kid.

I could see this guy being a 4-6 guy in the NHL. Logged close to 30 mins a night on a really inexperienced 67s back end. He was one of the 'vets' at 17 years old.

He was asked to carry a huge load and did a very very good job at it, anchoring the PP and PK.

Put up 62-14-26-40 and in the playoffs has 2g-5a in 5 games played.

I think he could be a huge steal if in the late 2nd round, early 3rd.

Thoughts on the Hoef?

Same. Only seen him a couple times and wasnt really even looking for him the first time I watched him. But he dazzled me with his skating and puck carrying ability.

Think he is super underrated and would easily consider him starting mid-2nd round.

In his 5th year he's got 25 points in 16 games, anyone watching him think he's worth a contract?

He can't skate. So, no. I don't think he's worth a contract.
If I were a team that was short on defenders in the pipeline, I'd throw him an ELC. I doubt he could become anything more than a bottom pairing defender, but AHL depth isn't a bad thing and he's young so it could be a project worth taking if you have the patience to develop.

I mean, someone probably will, but I wouldn't. Any good skater is going to continually beat him wide. Maybe he'll carve out a career as an AHL PP specialist, but I'd be very surprised if he could find any successful role in the NHL given how fast the game is played now.
