Don't know much about the guy but just looking at his stats, a third seems a bit steep.

But that's just a snap, knee jerk reaction.
His defensive numbers are pretty good and hes simply stuck behind a great dcore

Thinking this is a Palmieri-esque move for a guy who can help steady a pair for one of our offensive dmen.

if it doesnt work out, it cost us a 3rd. Oh well. And hes Swiss

Wonder what the conditions are. Is this guy any good?

it was conditional from the hall trade
2021 conditional round round pick (first round if Coyotes advance to second round of 2020 playoffs and Hall re-signs with Coyotes, second round if Coyotes advance to second round of 2020 playoffs or if Hall re-signs with Coyotes, else third round) (?-

On the surface it seems weird for a team that thinks they have a chance at a cup to trade away a defenseman right before the playoffs. Usually teams want as much depth at d as possible. Maybe they have another trade in the works.

Only Subban, Severson and Butcher meet the exposure requirements, but you have to protect three and expose one, so they added Siegenthaler.

They could've gone 8-1 and protected six forwards, I guess. But that's a bit extreme.
The Devils have nine defenseman meeting requirements for exposure

im not sure where you are getting your information from
