The point of trading Tuch would be a long term solution at D. That isn't in the deal since the cap would make extending Vatanen not a thing. Butcher and Wood are meh pieces. Bad base for Vegas.

Don't see him signing for cheap enough to fit. So no. Vatanen is a good player, but won't be getting NJ Tuch.

This is terrible for Vegas. They likely wouldn’t trade Tuch or Hague alone for this, nevermind both.

You’re not getting good young cost controlled NHLers with the primary asset you’re offering being a pending UFA.

Vatanen actually would make a lot of sense for Vegas. But no chance they give up either Tuch or Hague to get him.

There’s no way Vegas trades that package for a pending UFA. Severson makes much more sense.
