Elmira NY
Can't see why the Blues would do this. They're a more likely playoff team than the Devils. Bennington and Buch are functioning much better for the Blues than Meier and Vanecek are for the Devils. The Devils are almost a reach to make it now and sending off a 1st would be a mistake IMO. Meier might be a bad contract but might be better to give him another year.

Yuck. The Devils are trying desperately to get rid of Meier, and the Blues end up worse in goal AND up front.

No thanks.

Doesn't make a lot of sense for NJ to dump Meier already, He hasn't looked comfortable in NJ but Ruff is hellbent on playing him on the left side and changes his line mates far too frequently.
If Ruff can't figure out how to use Meier effectively, it'll be him that goes not Timo.

Value wise, I could stomach this trade and see why it makes sense. assuming that D prospect isn't Casey.
Even with Casey it's a huge risk for the Blues and NJ is the clear winner here.

Now if the Blues are convinced that the Meir issue is entirely the NJ situation that's one thing but 8 million per for that term is a huge gamble.
