What happened to him?

Basically his shot sucks. He started out the season making some good passes and looking dangerous at times but not scoring a goal has killed what little confidence he already had offensively. He's hasn't been a bad 4th line defensive winger and PKer tho

He's paid too much though to be that so he will probably be bought out

Haven't seen many Dallas games this year but this is a feat in itself. Canucks fans will always have a connection with him seeing as 85% of the fanbase thought we would be picking him instead of Bo Horvat.

His teammate, Brett Ritchie, is more useless. Val is good defensively and can kill penalties, he has just lost all confidence offensively and is overpaid. Ritchie just sucks..completely sucks at everything except for fighting once every 10-15 games

At least he's pretty good defensively now and actually has become a decent option on the PK. Not worth his money but there's worse players you can dress . Well unless you need him to score because that ain't gonna happen.
