We are closer to European socialists. We pay more taxes, but we also have better safety nets for the poor. Nothing like Scandinavian countries, of course. As a culture, we're pink and proud of it. We also share all the other gross ills that plague so many countries, like corruption, pollution, infrastructure degradation, etc.

Politics don't belong here. Enough with the partisan crap (Obama comments), we share a love for the Bs, but we have diverse political positions.

Another issue with mongrel is the forced language requirements. Not only do the players have deal with the French media, their kids have to deal with it at school. Koivu was nothing but class and he always got crap from the language police. If I was a ufa I would need a hefty overpayment to deal with Montreal. IMO, Toronto is overrated compared to Montreal drama.
