It's (mostly) their own fault for maxing out their cap escalator option for so long. I'm almost certain 90%+ of NHLers have 0 clue how escrow actually works or why it exists.

I was talking about this. That the old formulation won’t work. I was trying to use escrow as part of my explanation that prorating out revenue for this season to calculate next years cap wouldn’t work. But I didn’t explain it very well.
