Should prove to be fun! Should give a pretty good shot in the arm to the downtown businesses with all the people down there for the weekend. Heard it was pretty nuts after work hours until the wee hours at all the usual lounges and pubs during the pre-season game on Wednesday.

I don't think they have specified who is going to be playing at the Forks on the opening of the NHL season bash at the forks on October 6.

To my understanding Blue Rodeo is playing at the convention centre after the home opener on October 9th.

So there are actually three separate events to keep straight.

1) The official NHL kickoff on October 6th at the forks (Band TBD)
2) Winnipeg Jets kickoff on October 9th at the forks (???)
3) Winnipeg social at the convention center after the game on October 9th (Band = Blue Rodeo).

Just wanted to put that in as I think the purpose of this thread is to discuss #1.
