So Aho literally edges out the Stone to take 17th after another HUGE season from him in Carolina. One of the best from the deep DEEP 2015 draft too. Gonna keep rising in these rankings too i figure. Anyways onto 18, will Stone take it? Lemme know if you want someone added

Went with Couturier, but there's probably 3 or 4 guys I could easily be convinced should go in this spot instead.

Gaudreau was 4th in Hart voting the year before last.

5th in even strength points since entering the league, behind only Kane, Kucherov, Crosby, and McDavid. Boosts every linemate's production he plays with and has two top 10 scoring finishes while being centered by Boring Sean Monahan. One down year and he's not a top 20 forward.

I mean over the last 3 years he sits 20th in PPG's for forwards and given that he doesn't really contribute to much to the game outside of offense and how poor he has performed in the playoffs lately, is it really all that surprising he isn't considered at top 20 forward by most?

8th amongst wingers, all of which with the exceptions of Hall and Panarin play with another elite player on their line, and Hall played half a season less. In fact nearly every player above him on that list played on great offenses with other elite players other than the exceptions above and Eichel.

His 1.04 p/gp over that period is still on par with Bergeron and Barkov and outpaces Marner, Tavares, Giroux, Aho, Pettersson, Point, and Stone. It's actually much easier to put up points as a C as 75% of the time a scoring play will go through the center in some way. He's the primary puck carrier on his team, his controlled OZ entries are right up with McDavid. He's still 8th in even strength points overall in that time frame.

The playoffs sure he hasn't been great the last two years, so have a lot of guys. Sam Bennett has a better playoff p/gp than Matthews, Malkin, and Giroux over the past 3 seasons. Is he better than them? Of course not. It's a small sample size. Over a much much larger sample size Gaudreau has proven he's a top forward in the league. Am I surprised? lol No of course not, HF has a long history of overlooking Johnny.

There's a guy on the list who has over 160 points in the past 2 seasons(not prorated) and plays the penalty kill well.

Fairly confident no one else on the list can beat that.

Huberdeau's gotta be the most underrated player in the NHL. Over the last 4 years he has 265 points in 264 games, yet never gets any credit.

I'm not saying he should be voted here, but the fact that he only has 2 votes here seems odd.
