The first overall pick from the 2014 draft gets taken at 19 after many years of very good defensive play. Many argue Ekblad could have gone sooner. Anyways 20 is NEXT, who ya got?

Surprised burns is still up. Had his play really fallen off that much? He’s been a near PPG dman for years now

Lol at about ten of these guys going before Suter and Giordano. This isn’t a ranking of trade value.

Dahlin is going to turn a lot of heads that should already be turned and it will be great

Dahlin wasn’t even used as a top-4 defenseman on his own team at 5-on-5 this season. And his team sucked.

You’re going to have to make a far more convincing argument if you want to explain to us why not only this forum is off on him by not ranking him in the top-20, but why his coaching staff is also WAAAAY off on him.

Looking at his results, I think you’re going to be fighting an uphill battle.

Cause 1OA and being touted as a genrational talent?

You should know those two things are way more important and valuable than actual results on the ice.

Dahlin actually has to hold up his end of the bargain and perform at a generational level for me to turn my head to the extent you're expecting. Not to mention, so far, Hughes, Makar and Heiskanen have been better.

Potential is great but you have to meet it. I have no doubt he'll be one of the game's very best but there's too much stock being put on his draft pedigree, even though he still has A LOT to prove.

Whatever, I'll trust the judgement of GMs that used him as a comparable when signing their own players last year. McAvoy, Provorov etc.

He's got 4 years of those numbers, at 23, on a team with no offense. Thats why I'm voting Suter.

Sorry but you're actually countering your argument with this.

For example, a GM is not going to compare his Center to Sidney Crosby when trying to extend him. He will want to compare him to Chris Tierney

Or maybe I would need to see the context of where the comparisons were made (if you have them)
