I hope not, The fast paced 3 on 3 games were tolerable and the last games are more intense because of the prise att he end. I am left entertained almost every game I see since the format was put in place.

They've used similar phrasing before with the current format:

3v3 mini tourney has been the best thing to happen to the All Star game in the twenty odd years I've been watching hockey. I really hope they don't remove it entirely.

They're going to replace it with a 60 minute shootout

I don't think that means the format is changing, but it is great that the game will be on Saturday night instead of Sunday.
