Are you bored of the lock-out talk? Kind of wish you could play as your favorite team to bring home the Cup? Have nothing to do for an entire weekend in December? You are in luck!

A friend of mine is running a charity event called the "NHL Lock-in". He is trying to get 30 "teams" to commit to a 48-hour marathon season of NHL '13 online on Dec 15-16. The event will be using XBox Live, so you need to have a membership to play. If you want to put a team together (it will be 48hrs straight, so will probably need more than one person), please go to this website and register. http://nhllockin.com/

This will be a fun event, and the goal is to raise some money for Child's Play, a game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in a network of over 70 hospitals worldwide: http://www.childsplaycharity.org/

There is no cost to join, and no commitment needed to raise funds (although it is encouraged). You do have to be commited to the 48-hour period though. The winner will get bragging rights, and maybe even a few cool prizes (to be determined). We are in the process of trying to get a few NHLers to either play, sign some items or at least send us some twitter shout outs. Team allocations are on a first come first serve basis.

If you have any other questions get in touch with the Commissioner on the website at [email protected]
