I've played near 1000 games and spent $200 on packs for a team probably not even worth 500k

Biggest mistake of my gaming life was give EA's NHL another try. I quit after 07 and should have stayed that way.

I'll gladly let you donate me some cards if you want to quit...my team sucks

Nice! I like the approach of "fave" players over a stacked team. I've gone down that route. How has Kadri SOTW been? Also may I ask why Iggy is on D, lol? :S

Iggy is on D because of the heated debate. Those who don't know the Pens figured he'd play with Sid. But those familiar know Sid's line is untouchable. But Iggy's got some chemistry with Sid, so it'd be a shame to waste that. Only solution It was a joke suggestion on my part, but I'm gonna try it out in HUT. Why not, right?

Thinking about subbing out Bolland for Thornton and Marchand in for Hossa. I've heard Marchand fights harder for the pucks, and Thornton is a timeless fav. Just breaks up the team line thing.

Ah, yeah. I think he'll turn out to be like Turris SOTW. At first Turrey's SOTW was a little high, maybe not as big as Kadri at 1st but he's now decently priced. Haha, smart!

Yeah Marchand is a nice lil' grinder.

I don't think the problem is not working hard enough for wins, the problem is ice tilt. Once your team is too good then EA will give the advantage to the other team.

Picked up a Colton Orr finally! I feel about as happy as I will be once I get my SOTW Kadri. Orr cost me 5250, lol but I've been looking for him forever.

Goalies might switch. I'm thinking I need a SOTW Reimer, my regular Reimer has been weak for the last few games I've played. Not sure if I want to spent 5k+ on a Scrivens but if I can get him for cheap then I will. I might be able to afford a SOTW Phaneuf but then I wouldnt be able to get Kadri so maybe sometime down the road.

Nice to see guys going with teams of their favorite players over the all world team route.

I sorta gave up on that idea too since I could never get up to that level of pucks.

I used what i got from my crappy Easter pack plus from selling my old team to get a Rick Nash and made him my assistant captain. Awesome

Now I am just tweaking my lineup to have more of a "real" team feel.

I made an alternate lineup that is pretty average with only a couple amazing cards and all of a sudden the problems I described above are gone.

Every time I switch back to my good team, the problems are back unless I am playing an equally stacked team.

Hehe, I am not fully buying the science behind that. But no one can prove anything either way without knowing the developers in an honest way. I just look at the top teams overall and notice they're all jam-packed with stars.

Regardless, my problems ARE because I got lazy. I've documented it, analysed it... I deserve the losses i've taken recently.

I can confirm ice tilt is real. I won more games when I had a team full of regulars. Now that I got SOTW, my goalie seems to let in weak goals and I consistently see my 99 Crosby fresh off the bench getting caught from behind by a scrub.

All that said, I just picked up a SOTW Datsyuk. This is my roster now.

Sold my Stamkos. He was getting way too weak on the puck. Had to find a better alternative, so I took the JaredCowenFan2 route & stayed up later last night to make sure I got this slightly used SOTW Spezza! Stoked!

Can't wait to try him out, especially if he's crisp like bacon
