In town for a "state of the city" and NFL draft teases. Recognizes that Las Vegas has the infrastructure to handle large events. Hopes that the 2020 draft exceeds the 600k participants/attendees in the 2019 draft.

They should probably take notes from the disaster of which was the NBA All-Star game in Vegas for the pro-bowl.

2007.

Before there was a major league team (or two) in the city, before the proliferation of sports betting.

Long time ago, relatively speaking.

It was more the actions of the players and fans who came down, than anything to do with the games. Pretty sure the Pac-Man Jones shooting incident happened that weekend.

Same stuff Tagliabue [who's now headed to the HOF despite in all honesty being a pretty mediocre commissioner whose big claims to fame are "no work stoppage under his watch" and "be milquetoast when pressed with even a semi-difficult decision"] did in his tenure. Nothing to see here, unless you think this kind of stuff shouldn't happen.

No one cares about the Pro Bowl, so that really doesn't matter.

The NFL gives Super Bowls to teams that build new stadiums all the time, so Vegas getting one is about the least surprising news the league could announce.

Vegas is likely to become one of the 10 cities that routinely get a Superbowl.

New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami, Tampa Bay, Houston, Phoenix, SF, LA, LV should be part of the rotation. Rams Stadium takes the place of the Rose Bowl. LV likely takes over for SD. Dallas I would include, but things didn't go smoothly from a ticket perspective when they hosted back in 2011. But, I suspect, Jerry World gets another chance. So, these 10 cities should get a SB once a decade. NFL aims for warm weather outdoor stadiums or a Dome with a fun party atmosphere.

NFL awards the Superbowl to cities like Detroit, Indy, Minnesota (cold weather cities with a dome) as an incentive to build a new stadium.
