I think it'll feel like the playoffs more often than not... even those one off games will still be against a team you are directly trying to take a spot from and vice versa. After the first week or so it ought to be intense every game

What else is new? You'd think with being in the same division and both teams being good at the same time we'd get them more often, but it's just been one big tease.

I was thinking that playing the same team 8 times in a season is bound to generate some bad blood and new rivalries across the league. Could be somewhat random, too, depending on how interactions might escalate. Gonna be interesting.

It's the easiest marriage joke to make I admit, but if that's your actual situation, I feel sorry for you son - to paraphrase an old school rap artist.

shooting from the hip here but would we put Jarvis, Suzuki, and of couple of other WHL/ OHL players since their season may be non-existent or severely delayed. That way they can be with the team, earn AHL pay, while not using up ELC because they wont be playing. Have Geekie/Bishop there as well to be the one forward immediate call up. If a 2nd forward is needed, we can bounce 2-3 games between Jarvis, Suzuki, and Rees until another forward come up through Chicago and go through the protocols. Could even run 11-7 with Ryan/Mckeown to buy us some time.

When/ if the WHL and/or OHL get off the ground we can slowly release them to their teams and call up other AHLers to take their taxi squad spot.
