Mr. Preachy
Figured a Pre-Game thread should go up because some info is going into different threads. Would be better to keep discussion/info in one place, no?
12:23PM: The lines the Rangers are using at practice today are (NYR):
Chris Kreider, Derick Brassard, Rick Nash
JT Miller, Derek Stepan, Mats Zuccarello
Kevin Hayes, Eric Staal, Jesper Fast
Tanner Glass, Dominic Moore, Viktor Stalberg
Oscar Lindberg is skating as an extra forward.
If Boston and Montreal both miss the playoffs that would be sooo funny.
They're cooked, but Boston is on thin ice right now.Montreal doesn't have a shot in hell.
No Subban tomorrow. Will be interesting. If they don't get a point out of tomorrow, I'm pretty sure they're eliminated, if not very close to elimination.
If Boston and Montreal both miss the playoffs that would be sooo funny.
I was bored... Sorry.

1967: 0-4 win v Toronto
1957: 1-4 loss @ Montreal (Play-offs)
1950: 3-5 win v Toronto
1948: 2-5 loss @ Detroit
1940: 0-1 win v Boston (Play-offs)
1939: 1-4 loss @ Boston (Play-offs)
1935: 4-4 tie @ Montreal (Play-offs)

1929: 2-1 win @ Toronto (Play-offs)
1927: 3-4 loss @ Boston
The Rangers have a 12-14-3 record on March 26th. When visiting Montreal it's 1-1-1. Last time in 1957 (1-4 loss). 2 other games were 4-4 tie in 1935 and a 4-3 win in 3OT in 1932
So our last win in Montreal on 3/26 was over 80 years ago? Wow.
Well, let's try to change that. No Subban is good. No Price is better. No Tokarski either
Tokarski is in the Ducks' system now.
I'll be at the game tomorrow!! Hopefully we finally win one at the Bell Centre. Habs are missing many, many key players (Price, Subban, Gallagher, Petry). No excuse to lose this game!
I'm counting on the Pens/Isles heating up to finish the season. I figure we'll need at least 100 points to give ourselves a good shot at home ice advantage. Our remaining schedule is:
3/26 @ MTL
3/27 V. PIT
3/31 @ CAR
4/2 V. BUF
4/4 @ CBJ
4/5 V. TBL
4/7 V. NYI
Currently at 92 points, we need 8 to reach 100.
Hoping wins against Carolina, Buffalo, and Columbus are in the bag, that puts us at 98 points. A win, vs the Pens would be great, but they've been playing well (except for last night), and they've beaten us twice this season. The Isles and Bolts play good against us, so wins against them will be tough. That makes this game in Montreal a big one, if we want home ice advantage in R1.
Pens remaining schedule is:
@ DET
@ NYR
V. BUF
V. NSH
@ NYI
V. PHI
@ OTT
@ WSH
Thinking the Pens beat the Wings, Sabres, Islanders, Flyers, and Senators. That puts them at 98 points, with games still left vs Nashville, Washington (which I think they'll lose), and us. That will also be a huge game.
Let's hope we finish off the season strong, roll into the playoffs, and surprise a few teams.
It's one of those buildings everyone should see a game in at least once.
I believe the pens play the flyers twice down the stretch. Those games will be very interesting. The pens dropped two big points against a 3rd string goalie at home. If they lose Saturday against Detroit Sunday against us becomes a must win for them.
