How did Norris win fastest skater over Joseph or Sanderson. Did they trip up or something

If only Norris used that speed to win races to the corners in an actual game....

Of course. But no gaurantee it doesnt either. This is a very normal course of action for NHL teams.

And really, just like the one situation in Vancouver that can be used as an example for the route you suggest, it may have gone just as well for them had they hired him in the summer. The results arent necessarily proof it was even a factor.
Yes, that could be true…. But, logic dictates that bringing in Tochett in Jan last, gave him a true insiders look at the roster, a saw who he could reach and get on board with his system, how to motivate this player and that player and during the offseason he was able to provide feed back, from inside the locker room, on the players and contribute to the roster changes management made … Before training camp….

He would NOT have had 40 plus games with the players, knowing what makes them tick, and build rapport with the leaders and other players if he was introduced to them at the pre training camp golf tournament…..

There is a clear value added to having him hired last Jan, and it is reflected on where they stand now overall.

Better him than Tkachuk though
Kastelic has to play a physical game to be a contributor on this team. He is not a playmaker, puck handler, PK specialist, nor prolific shooter/scorer. If he wants to be an NHL player, he has to play a tough physical game. Perhaps he is beginning to understand that.

Overall pretty happy with their effort in the 1st.

Refs trying their best to gift goals to the Rangers. It would be nice if the NHL maybe, I dunno, addressed the inconsistency in ref performance league wide? Would be preeeettty cool if they did
It would be very interesting to see the Supervisor of Officials assessment of all the refs after each game and periodically. Are there any sites that "assess and rate the refs"?

MSG feed has NCAA highlights. I don't mind that.
Sportsnet's coverage is a cheap-ass way to provide something to air during intermissions. It is not meant to serve its various audiences with quality programming of interest! If it were, it would provide separate intermission personnel for each game. TSN is not much better!

Willing to cut Pinto more slack as he gets his conditioning and timing back. Makes up for it as one of our few defensive 2-way forwards. Norris has to be better.
Norris is on my shit list!

Mr Cool at work!

If Staios isn't a buyer at the deadline, we riot
Don't you mean "seller"?

Well Netflix time

Its kinda sad, really thought this year would be different. Then they kept DJ way too long

I also really think you’re not winning with players like Chabot and Norris.

Way too soft
They kept both Dorion and DJ far too long.

Yes Chabot and Norris are far too soft and likely will never win a cup.

Who else is happy knowing that not only do we have Korpi signed for the next 4 years, but we've also got Forsberg on the books next year too!
Can we buyout Forsberg too? I think he is finished as he is injury prone.

Stutzle comes across as very immature both physically and mentally. He wants to compete but gets pushed around easily and shies away from engaging with other players when they get in his face. he needs to get stronger and develop a mean streak.
That will likely come in the next 2 seasons. He is still young.

I have noticed this more recently as well. During the Karlsson and even further back the Alfredsson era there were plenty of the older generations attending games. A lot less jerseys in the stands as well. As time went buy I started to see like you have mentioned a more younger crowd that is more engaged in the game. Louder, more boisterous and flaunting more merchandise than the crowds of yester years.

It's unfortunate that fans of certain teams will have a large presence at CTC but winning and time will help mitigate that as younger kids are able to poach tickets from their parents or purchase them themselves.

Having said that the CTC is one of the best playoff atmospheres in the NHL and I'm looking forward to finally getting back there. I think this young team will be shocked at how loud this barn can get. The longer the wait the sweeter it'll be.
I am looking forward to the Winnipeg WhiteOut in the playoffs! That will be ultra loud!

I have 4 adult kids too. Only one is into sports at all.

One of my takeaways from going to games, and got this vibe again last night, is there are a lot of young people going to games on their own dime and having a good time. There's a lot of 35 and under at the game that were raised as Sens fans that are paying their own way.
Thanks, I am very pleased to hear your take on the young fans... I have been very concerned given our own family experience.
