New Oiler board game

Someone on the gaming boards, asked if they can invent a board game mirroring a situation in their life. Well, this is not about one life but many in Edmonton.

"How to maintain a franchise and keep it out of the playoffs for 10 consecutive years." The Edmonton Oilers story.

Starts from 1990 the last year they won a Stanley Cup or 2006 when they were last in one. Could be 2 separate editions or one as an expansion.

You lose if you get lucky and McDavid takes you to the playoffs. Strong characters will be Kevin Lowe, Craig Mactavish, Dalls Eakins and Kevin Pendgergast. Others may include Pockington.

You get points for bad draft choices, bad trades, bad free agent signings and failing to keep good players. You lose points for drafting good players, good FA signings, beating Calgary and winning seasons.

Wonder who would buy this game except for Calgary fans

Meh they can't handle more than candy land

just today on calgary puck they decided wideman would be the #1dman on the Oilers then gave themselves a big pat on the back for making the playoffs last year

Call it "failed rebuild" and make it like monopoly. But everything that happens is bad.

Free parking=first round exit
Jail=nhl draft
Get out of jail free card=win the lottery

Etc.

A few kinks to work out....maybe instead of getting money when your pass go you lose money.
