Tomahawks new ownership group is a good thing. Most of the investors were part of the former group. Small city packs the place, won't be moving any time soon. Season tickets purchased and excited for the draft this week!

I'm hearing the NA is now increasing the import limit to 6 this season, is that accurate?

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced that its Board of Governors has approved the application, sale, and transfer of membership of the NAHL’s Austin Bruins and the NA3HL’s Rochester Grizzlies to Brian Raduenz who has purchased the team from Mike Cooper and Craig Patrick.

Raduenz is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of AEVEX Aerospace, an Aerospace and Defense company specializing in aviation-based technology solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. Tomahawks' new owner: Honor Johnstown's hockey past, invest in players' futures
By Russ O'Reilly
Aug 14, 2023

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Johnstown Tomahawks’ Sept. 30 home opener against the New Hampshire Mountain Kings is seven weeks away, and no one could be more excited than the team’s new majority owner and CEO, John Koufis.

Koufis socked his palm with his fist while talking about his passion for hockey – the physicality, the speed and the “poetry,” he said, of the players’ looping turns, their swift changes of direction on the edges of their skates, and their skillful passing of the puck.

“It is absolutely the one sport that you get a full appreciation for when you watch it live,” he said. ...

Btw, this new Scoreboard and Boxscores on the NAHL site are horrible.
Why to hell do they make changes, if it is going from good to horrible?
Probably a change in their social media subcontractor, low bidders rule. I've seen worse on-line products.

When your argument is "I've seen worse", it tells you all you need to know. No goalie stats, in fact they don't even have the correct goalie playing in several games.

The GAA for goalies on the individual team websites are completely off. Then the team GAA just sums the two wrong individual GAA (at least the couple I looked at). One would think it's not hard to write the proper equation in the code.

They have made a few corrections over the course of the week, so they are making progress, but you are correct there are still issues with GAA and the games played (which is probably the root cause), in some cases goalies have played more games that the team has played for the entire season.

The Rink Live published a recent interview by Jordan McAlpine with new NAHL Commish Mark Frankenfeld. I thought the tech talk up front was worth a browse, especially for the posters above discussing stats inconsistencies early this season ...
... Q: First off, how excited are you to get the 2023-24 season underway? And what changes can fans or teams expect this season?

A: We’re extremely excited and honestly once the season gets started, it’s going to give us a break for the first time in a while. We went through a really big transition with our technology this summer and we’ve been working through a lot of bumps and bruises to get everything right. We took over our own branded streaming service, stats service, analytical service and website service, and then once we get started in October our teams are going to have video replay of goals available and every game will have an iPad in the scorekeepers box. So if there’s a questionable goal, we can now review them.

The next step will be in November where teams are going to have an iPad on the bench and a second one in the stands. So teams will be able to tag clips, they can go over plays on the bench and most importantly, they’ll be able to instantly educate and coach players. That’s something we’ve been working on over the last few years and our owners really wanted, and everything came together this summer. We have control of our data, control of our content, it’s NAHL-branded and we can help elevate the player experience in our league. We’re giving our players, coaches and teams the best possible resources, and that’s an exciting thing. ...

It's now October and the website is still a dumpster fire. For a week or two in September I thought they were making progress, you could see some things were being corrected and improved over the course of a week. I would say all progress stopped about a week ago.

It looks like, they focused their changes to teams (coach, GMs...) Not a single word about fans experience.
Here's a new one, a D-man for the Jersey Hitmen played Goalie for the Austin Bruins on Friday night...that's where we are with with the state of the NAHL website.
