With a windfall of prospects graduating to the pros last season, the New Jersey Devils used the 2014 NHL Draft to restock their junior pool. A few players are underachieving but a handful have done well in the early part of their respective seasons.

Not much of a list there... The saddest part is that the best prospect in the bunch "needs to work on his skating". Can't we just get some speedsters for once?

I'm not worried about Kujawinski. He's started slowly but has been doing well lately. Besides, I think he's going to be a 3rd liner in the NHL.

Quenneville has not gotten off to a slow start, he's been great. He might have only the upside if a 3rd liner but the book on him hasn't been written. I could see him becoming a 2C at some point.

Chatham was never a high scoring talent, he was always considered more of a grinder.

As I've thought for some time, I believe the Devils will have no problem filling their bottom6 internally.

Long-term I think they can count on Cammalleri and Henrique on the top6 going forward. Hopefully the Devils will be able to draft another foundational player this year and trade for another in the offseason. That would require two more pieces to be added to round out the top lines.

I keep seeing mixed reports on Quenneville's skating, and if he's playing this well without good skating ability, that probably bodes better for his future than worse.

Ya I recall at the draft reading different opinons on his skating. Some saying it was an overblowness issues others saying it was correctable.

Fact is as you say he is doing well. Also I think we tend to overrate speed as an attribute on here. Quenneville I think will end up average on the speed scale anyway. Also like that he is finding more of his offensive game apparently.

I'm in the group that thinks he will definitely be better then a 3C. Be more Henrique then JJ.

And YA I was under the impression Kuja has picked his play up recently.

How often do we see NJ prospects with questional skating ability?

Don't like this list. Not much upside unfortunately. Will be rooting for them though.

I am worried and skeptical on Kuja.

Other forwards drafted around him that year have shown much more promise so far.

Organization constantly drafts guys with 3rd line/Possibly 2nd line if a miracle happens potential; people get surprised when we can't score.

Take a risk for once for god's sake.

Don't know if anyone realized this or not but :

"Further complicating the situation is a recent free agent acquisition. Not confident Brodeur could hold down the starting job all season, Gatineau acquired veteran Brandon Whitney. Brodeur will now have to compete with Nicolas Lachance for the backup role and the chance to retake his spot as the team’s undisputed starter."

Quenneville is going to be a damn good top-6 forward. Maybe not a star, but I see him becoming a Pominville/Saad/Chiasson kind of rock-solid second line guy.
