Thread made for speculation and news regarding new J18 players 2013-14, born 1997. (Hockeygymnasium)
Please share rumours and confirmed transfers.

= Player that represented his province in TV-Pucken. (Two orange stars = a player that has participated in TV-Pucken two times, etc.)
= Player that participated in U16 SM. (Two orange stars = a player that has participated in U16 SM two times, etc.)
SHL → SHL = Player that leaves an (2012-13) SHL team for another (2012-13) SHL team.
NATIONAL TEAM = Player that has represented his country.
(Stars are given out for the season 2012-13 and earlier, hence '98 born players do not get a star for participation in TV-Pucken 2013.)

These are some of my predictions for a few teams in J18 Elit:

Brynäs

Goalies:
Felix Sandström

Defensemen:
Simon Sandström
Lucas Carlsson

Forwards:
Oliver Henriksson
Jens Lööke
Fredrik Blom
Linus Ölund

Felix Sandström is a future star. He covers a lot of the net, he's big but at the same time very agile. Great reflexes and very calm. S. Sandström and Carlsson are a given. Both have represented Sweden U16 in international games. Sandström plays a physical game but can also be a great asset on the powerplay. Carlsson is a two-way defeseman with great puck control and high hockey-IQ.
All four forwards have the capacity to play for the national team. Smart players that really laid the foundation for Brynäs' amazing effort in U16 SM.

HV71

Goalies:
Alexander Johansson

Defensemen:
Alexander Younan
Johan Malmborg
Marcus Korutschka

Forwards:
Filip Ahl
Sebastian Orre
Ian Örnskog
Jonathan Dahlen

Johansson is very consistent. He makes all those easy saves and is always in the right position.
Malmborg and Korutschka are good in both ends, future third/second-liners. Younan is a great offensive defeseman. Handles the puck very well and has great speed.
Ahl has the ability to skate around the opponents very easily and he has a quick release.
Örnskog and Orre are great powerforwards. Dahlen is a good passer with good hands.

Linköping

Goalies:
Sebastian Ericsson

Defensemen:
Calle Krantz
Philip Nyberg
Philip Motéus

Forwards:
Oscar Carmefeldt
Carl Davidsson
Simon Hellholm
Tor Johansson

Ericsson had the best SVS% and GAA in U16 Elit South. Can sometimes let some easy shots get pass him but is capable of making amazing desperation saves. Has represented Östergötland two times in TV-Pucken.
Krantz has very high hockey-IQ. Rarely makes mistakes. Good on the powerplay. Played 27 games with Linköping J18 2012-13.
Nyberg is a smooth-skating defenseman. Good acceleration and speed. Rather weak defensively but has great puck control.
Motéus is a defensive defenseman. Delivers hard hits and is very good infront of the net. Great asset on the PK.
Johansson, Carmefeldt and Davidsson are all fast powerforwards. Neither of them are good at finishing but suites a third line very well.
Hellholm may be one of Sweden's best powerforwards. Plays physical and is always in the right position. Has a good shot as well.

I'm sure you can add Hannes Samuelsson to that list. Very wise player with good vision who takes a lot of responsibility on the ice. Ok offensive player but more of a two-way center. Has been A or C for Linköping U16 during the season and has been one of the first to be called up for LHC J18 games when they've had injuries.

He does have good vision, indeed. But in my opinion, he doesn't belong on that level. He's way to small. Never gets pass his opponents. Looses the puck as quickly as he gets it.
According to official game sheets, he became alternate captain some time after christmas. Never wore the C.
Hellholm and Carmefeldt/Johansson were the go-to guys when J18 needed players. Samuelsson only played 4 games.

Leman

I've heard that Léman is going to Modo as well. Heard from a guy in the organisation that he'll make around 20.000 SEK per month + an apartment. Sounds bizarre but I'm not surprised. Modo has been doing that for ages.

That's a lot of b******t - I know for sure that he is not making 20.000 SEK a month. If he would have chosen the best deal that he was offered - then he wouldnt have gone to MODO.

MODO does not offer that type of money to their juniors. I can guarantee you that 100%.

Léman said already during TV-pucken that he would like to play for MoDo so no surprise there. He's not the first Uppland kid to do it, Robert Hägg and Muzito-Bagenda comes to mind.

Haven't heard any exact sums but I thought the fact that Modo (and a couple of other clubs) offers crazy salaries to some juniors was common knowledge in the "junior community"?
Something disliked but not exactly condemned.

It's very easy to give premiums in other ways aswell, and then say "we don't pay any salary". Apartments, food money, maybe cars etc.

Södertälje announced their new players today:

MÃ¥lvakt
Lukas Klarström - Bofors

Backar
Albin Luiro - SSK
Anthony Häger - SSK
Tobias Fällman - SSK
Erik Ullman - SSK

Forward/Center
Gilito Garcia – Nyköping Hockey
Felix Karlsson – Vita Hästen
Ludvig Karlsson - SSK
William Warging - SSK
Rasmus Johansson - SSK
Nik Simsic - SSK

Interesting that Vita Hästen players keep moving to other clubs than LHC.

Regarding Södertälje SK

I really like the the forwards.
Garcia is somewhat of a powerforward.
Felix Karlsson is aggressive and an overall good player in many aspects.
Ludvig Karlsson played on top of his game in U16 SM and he shoots like a pro. A very accurate and extremely hard shot. Will be interesting to see him with Sweden U16 on Friday.

The D looks a bit weak to me, except Ullman of course.

MoDo looks really strong on paper, mainly because of those Björklöven guys. I remember Max Lindholm also being really good in TV-pucken.

Sebastian Ericsson is apparently moving to Malmö next season. A bit surprising, I thought he would be nr 1 in LHC J18 next season but that probably means Erik Källgren will play J18 next year also.

According to Eliteprospects LHC J18 page (http://www.eliteprospects.com/team.php?team=812) the following U16 players will play there next season:

Goalies
-

Defenders
Calle Krantz
Philip Nyberg
Sebaztian Cammerfjord

Forwards
Simon Hellholm
Tobias Göransson
Oscar Carmefeldt
Tor Johansson
Hannes Samuelsson
Edgars Treijs (1998)

Also according to Eliteprospects, defender Philip Motéus has moved to Växjö J18 on a 3 year junior contract. Too bad, he would have made a nice addition to LHC J18 with his physical style of play.
